Forecasters say normal service has resumed, with the weekend set for a mixture of sunshine and showers.

And while temperatures will approach the 20C mark, winds are set to pick up.

Families heading for events such as the Killarney Races or All-Ireland semi-final in Croke Park will need to pack for all eventualities.

"The rest of the week will be quite breezy for the first time in a while," said Joanna Donnelly, a meteorologist with Met Éireann.

"Overall, there will be sunshine and scattered showers, much of the same unsettled weather which people have come to expect."

Temperatures are predicted to reach between 17 and 19C during the day with mild nights.

And the spell of mixed weather looks set to continue into early next week.
