GARDAI were continuing to question a man today in connection to cocaine worth half a million found in a house.

Gardai made the €500,000 seizure during a search operation in West Dublin.

The discovery was made when gardai attached to Ronanstown Drugs Unit and Detective Unit searched a house in the Ronanstown area yesterday evening.

A man aged in his late 30s was arrested at the scene.

He is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Lucan Garda Station. The man can be held for up to seven days.

In unconnected cases, recent seizures include a joint Revenue’s Customs Service and Garda National Immigration Bureau operation at Dublin Airport.

There, 2.08kgs of cocaine, with an estimated street value of €145,600, was found earlier this month.

The drugs were found concealed in the carry-on baggage of a man arriving in on an international flight.
