Only 64 shopping days to Christmas and the push is on to buy Irish.

The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI) yesterday launched a campaign and a new-look website, www.giveirishcraft.ie, where shoppers can browse products by designer name, price point or category.

Products labelled 'Designed and Made in Ireland' contain "quality and heritage but now more than ever, they embody inspiration, innovation and contemporary design," says Brian McGee, acting CEO of DCCoI.

Many of the Irish design and craft companies on the website have achieved strong international recognition over the past 12 months as part of the programme of activities for the government-backed Irish Design 2015 (ID2015) initiative.
