Defence Forces pay tribute to fallen comrades
A CEREMONIAL military guard will parade throughout the summer at the site of the national memorial to members of the Defence Forces who died in the service of the State.
It is part of the Defence Forces' activities in the run-up to the centenary of the foundation of the Irish Volunteers, Oglaigh na hEireann, in November.
Ceremonies will take place every Saturday from tomorrow to August 31 at Archbishop Ryan Park in Merrion Square, Dublin. Units from the Army, Air Corps and Naval Service, will take part in remembrance of their fallen comrades.
The ceremony will last about an hour each day for the first six weeks and will be repeated twice on the final two Saturdays.
