THE stepfather of missing Amy Fitzpatrick is to be charged with murdering Amy’s brother, Dean.
According to a report in today’s ‘Irish Daily Star’, Dave Mahon – who was living with Dean and Amy’s mother Audrey – is to hand himself into gardai but has indicated that he will fight the charge.
Dean (23) died last year after he sustained a stab wound in a Dublin flat
Mr Mahon is expected to be charged tomorrow morning with the murder of the father-of-one.
He told 'The Star' that he had hoped to be charged with the lesser offence of manslaughter.
"I'm not guilty of murder, not murder, Jesus no," he told The Star.
"I would prefer if it was manslaughter, but it is up to the jury. It was an accident," he added.
