THE Dail will adjourn for several hours tomorrow as a mark of respect to Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe to allow ministers and TDs attend his funeral.
Justice Minister Alan Shatter is briefing the Cabinet this morning on the investigation into the murder of the Detective, the coordination of efforts between the gardai and PSNI and the national appeal for information.
Statements will be made in the Dail by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny and party leaders on the murder this afternoon.
Detective Garda Donohoe’s funeral will take place tomorrow.
His body will be removed from his home at Lordship, Jenkinstown, Dundalk at 11:30am to St Joseph’s Redemtorists Church at St Alphonsus Road, Dundalk, arriving there at 12:30pm. The funeral will be held afterwards at Lordship cemetery.
The Dail will sit early tomorrow at 9:30am, rather than the normal time of 10:30am, for Leaders Questions and the Order of Business. It will adjourn at around 10:30am or 11am as a mark of respect and to allow ministers, TDs and Senators attend the funeral.
The Dail will resume business at 4pm with Questions to the Minister for Arts Jimmy Deenihan, Topical Issues and debates on the National Lottery Bill and HSE Governance Bill.
The second half of the debate on Fianna Fail’s motion opposing the closure of garda stations will take place from 9:30pm with the vote at 11pm.
