Dad's Army have a GAA game plan

A FATHER and son team will take their minds off their peacekeeping tasks in south Lebanon for a couple of hours this afternoon.

Brian (45) and Ian (21) Kearney plan to settle down in front of the TV at their Camp Shamrock base in Tibnin to watch Kildare take on Derry in a qualifier at Croke Park. For Brian, who is from Newbridge, this is his fifth tour of duty in south Lebanon. He says he was very proud to be peacekeeping alongside son Ian and has another son, Jay (19), currently undergoing training with the Defence Forces at home.
