Cyclist dies in minibus collision

A cyclist has been killed as he was hit by a minibus, police said.

The accident happened at Kilcummin Cross on the Tralee to Killarney road at about 9.45pm on Sunday.

The victim, who is aged in his late 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Tralee General Hospital for a post mortem.

The driver, who was alone in the minibus, was not injured.

The scene of the crash remains closed for an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and diversions are in place.
