Cyclist (40s) dies after collision with tractor

A cyclist in her 40s has died after a collision with a tractor in Co Kerry this evening.

The crash occurred at around 7pm.

The tractor was towing agricultural equipment on the Killarney bypass which is the main Cork to Tralee Road (N 22).

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of the tractor was uninjured.

Gardaí at Killarney Co Kerry are appealing for witnesses.

"The road is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene. The local Coroner has been notified," Gardaí said in a statement.

"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station 064-667 1160, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
