Customer stabbed during service station robbery in Waterford

A MALE customer has been stabbed during a robbery of a service station in Co Waterford this evening.

 The robbery occurred at around 7.15pm on Park Rd, Waterford, when two  raiders entered the premises and threatened staff and customers.

It is believed the raiders were in possession of a knife, and they fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash.

The man's injuries are described as non life threatening.

 

During a follow up search of an apartment in Waterford city centre, two men in their 20s were arrested and are being detained at Tramore Garda station.

A sum of cash was recovered at this apartment.

 

Gardai in Waterford are appealing for witnesses to the robbery or anyone who may have seen unusual or suspicious activity around the service station on Park Rd around 7pm is asked to contact Waterford Garda station on 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
