INDEPENDENT Newspapers columnist Richard Curran (pictured) is to take over as presenter of 'The Business' programme on RTE Radio One, replacing George Lee.
The 'Dragons' Den' presenter was previously business editor of the Irish Independent, deputy editor of the 'Sunday Business Post' and business correspondent with RTE News. Mr Curran said he was delighted with his new role and will present his first programme on Saturday, April 26.
ORGANISERS of a cultural gathering dedicated to the memory of Seamus Heaney have pledged to make the event an annual festival.
Feile Heaney, which has been dubbed a celebration of the late poet through words and music, is being hosted for the first time tonight in Ashford, Co Wicklow.
The Nobel Laureate lived in the village with his wife, Marie, in the 70s and continued to holiday there regularly.
The event starts at 8pm at Nun's Cross Church and is backed by the Heaney family, Arts Council, Poetry Ireland and Wicklow County Council.
