Curious calf 'Pajo' tucks into a boiled egg on road to recovery
PIGS in the parlour was an old slight against the Irish – but just look at the delight on the face on this calf as he tucks into a boiled egg at the kitchen table.
The two-week-old Simmental calf named Pajo was taken in after he seemed a bit under the weather.
He has now become an internet sensation – much to the amusement of his owner, farmer James Sheridan from Castleblaney, Co Monaghan.
After coming to the back door, little Pajo took a curious wander into the kitchen, before snuggling up beside James' nephews, twin brothers Sean and Alan Sheridan (21) as they sat down to tea with their grandmother.
Alan, a student at Dundalk Institute of Technology, explained that young sick calves can quickly deteriorate and die if they are not taken care of.
Pajo has now made a full recovery and was yesterday back in the field.
The picture taken last week by Alan's brother, Kevin (16), went viral after it was picked up by the 'Farmers Journal'.
"We're thinking that he'll be a celeb now," joked Alan.
