Man 'seriously ill' in hospital after morning shooting

A man is said to be seriously ill in hospital after being shot in an attack early this morning.

The incident happened in the Distillery Court area of West Belfast.

The man has been taken to hospital and police are investigating.

Unconfirmed reports say he was 27 and shot at least four times.

Sinn Fein MP for West Belfast Paul Maskey condemned the shooting.

He said the man was seriously ill in hospital.

He Maskey said: “I absolutely condemn the shooting of a man in the Grosvenor area of west Belfast this morning.

“Those responsible need to taken off the streets.  

“Anyone with any information must bring it forward to the police.”
