A key Kinahan target has been arrested after an alleged phone theft on Sunday.
Ross Hutch (24) was held by gardaí overnight and is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
It is alleged that he snatched a mobile phone from an unsuspecting pedestrian at Marino Mart in Fairview, North Dublin shortly after 5pm yesterday.
The victim had his phone taken by a man on a bicycle. However the cyclist then handed the device back to the man after the victim got his hand trapped in the spokes of the bicycle.
The victim did not require medical treatment.
Hutch was arrested a short time later and taken to Clontarf garda station where he was held overnight.
Hutch has been repeatedly warned that his life is under threat since his father Eddie (58) was gunned down by the Kinahan cartel last February at their home in the North Inner city.
Hutch, who has over 50 previous convictions, has spent much of the last six months hiding out in hotels and hostels under a false name.
He was close by when his cousin Gareth Hutch was shot dead in Dublin last May.
The nephew of Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch appeared on Winning Streak in September 2015 where he scooped €33,000 for his brother Edward Jnr.
But since then the family has been struck by several tragedies starting with the murder of cousin Gary
Hutch is due to appear before Dublin District court today.
