Gardai seize more than €700k worth of drugs in two separate raids

Gardai recovered drugs worth more than €700k in two separate house raids on Wednesday.

In the capital, gardai recovered drugs worth more than half a million euro during a raid on a house during the evening.

The seizure was made on Barry Drive, Finglas shortly before 4pm.

Plain clothed and unformed gardai seized drugs including €400k worth of heroin, €80k worth of cannabis and €100k worth of cocaine.

The planned search was undertaken as part of Operation Thor.

A male in his late 30s was arrested at the scene under section 2 of the drug trafficking act.

Meanwhile, in a separate raid in Limerick, local gardai targets organised criminal activity in the city seized cannabis herb, cocaine, benzodiazepines and alprazolam with a combined estimated value of €126,000, pending analysis.

Two firearms, ammunition and a firearm component were also recovered.

The drugs, firearms and ammunition were discovered and seized following the planned search of a premises at Brooksbridge, Pallasgreen, County Limerick on Wednesday afternoon.

The investigation is on going and gardai confirmed no arrests have been made.
