A man was discovered allegedly being held against his will by two men in a van.

Gardai found the man after they stopped a van that was travelling along Main Street Finglas in North Dublin at around 1.40am this morning.

Three men were in the vehicle, including a 32-year-old male who claimed he had been kidnapped.

It's understood the other two men took his mobile and wallet moments earlier before they ordered him to get in the van.

Two men, both in their 20s, were arrested at the scene and are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Finglas Garda Station.

The man's wallet and phone have been recovered and the van has been sent for forensic examination.
