Garda investigation launched after thieves try to rob ATM

Thieves made an attempt to rob an ATM in Greystones in the early hours of the morning.

Gardai are appealing for information after thieves attempted to burgle a Permanent TSB ATM in Greystones.

Two burnt out vehicles were found nearby after the incident.

Gardai were notified of suspicious activity at the Permanent TSB branch between 4-5am on Thursday morning. 

Nothing has been reported stolen and the incident is currently under investigation.

The Greystones branch is closed today.

A spokesperson for Permanent TSB said the systems at the Greystones branch are currently down but they expect them to be back up and running tomorrow.
