Cracking chance to snap up a 'Bono' egg-head

BROADCASTER Joe Duffy will join some of Ireland's most established artists and fashion designers as they see their Easter egg creations go under the hammer for charity, writes Laura Butler.

The RTE host is one of 30 to see his hand-painted two-and-a-half foot offerings go to live auction on Saturday to help raise funds for the Jack and Jill Foundation.

The collection of perspex eggs features decorated art by John Rocha, Guggi and many others – with 'Liveline' anchor Duffy contributing with his Children Of The Revolution egg, featuring the names of youngsters who died in the 1916 rising.

Jonathan Irwin, CEO of the Jack and Jill Foundation, joked that any member of the public could end up with the opportunity to have "Bono in their bedroom".

The egg auction will be held as part of a Gala Black Tie Ball at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin on Saturday.
