Woman charged with disabled mum's car theft

A young Dublin woman appeared in court yesterday on a charge of unlawfully taking a car belonging to a disabled woman in Co Cavan.
Ann Marie Kelly (24) of North Circular Road, was charged with the unauthorised taking of the vehicle belonging to Eilis MacSeain, a 30-year-old multiple sclerosis sufferer, on April 4 last.
The vehicle was snatched after the mother left the keys in the ignition to run after her young son who walked off on his own to a playground, Carrickmacross District Court heard.
Judge Sean MacBride remanded the accused in custody to a further sitting at Carrickmacross next Wednesday.
