A woman is entitled to €18,000 monthly maintenance and two homes worth €3.3m after the High Court heard her husband had admitted to repeated and continuing adultery with her friend.

The woman cannot be reasonably expected to remain with her "extremely dynamic" businessman husband, Mr Justice David Keane said.

As part of the judicial separation, she will get the €1.6m family home and a €1.7m holiday home. She is also entitled to €18,000 monthly maintenance - €15,000 for herself and €3,000 for the children - and half of the man's €1.8m pension scheme.

The court heard that the woman is a mother-of-four and a full-time homemaker, while her husband earns an average of €1.4m a year.

They are in their forties and were married for 18 years.
