Two youths plead not guilty to murder of German student

TWO Dublin youths have pleaded not guilty to murdering a German student in the city a year and a half ago.
Thomas Heinrich and his fellow German student, Robert Rinker, were stabbed near their home in Rialto on December 1st, 2012. Mr Rinker survived, but 22-year-old Mr Heinrich died.
A 20-year-old and a 17-year-old were arraigned before the Central Criminal Court today, charged with murder and assault causing harm.
Wesley Kelly (20) of St Anthony’s Road, Riatlo pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Heinrich and assault causing harm to Mr Rinker on St Anthony’s Road.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, also denied both charges.
A jury of three women and nine men was sworn in to hear the trial, which begins tomorrow morning before Mr Justice Barry White, and is expected to last two weeks.
