Two men in court over Kildare drug seizure

TWO men were charged with a series of offences in relation to a drugs seizure in Kildare at a special sitting of Kilcock District Court this afternoon.
John Breen, (53), from Johnstownbridge, Enfield, Co Kildare was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine, and possession of heroin and cocaine for the purposes of selling or otherwise supplying.
Aidan Dorrian, (41), from Claddagh Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 was charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of cocaine for the purposes of selling or otherwise supplying.
The men were arrested following a search operation at Johnstownbridge, Co. Kildare on yesterday.
Both men were remanded in custody by Judge John Coughlan this afternoon at 3pm and are due to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday 25 October at 10.30am.
The court heard when both men were arrested they had nothing to say.
There was no application for bail. However, solicitor Niall O’Connor counsel for both men, said there would be a bail application next Friday.
The arrests were part of an intelligence lead operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs detectives from the Garda National Drug Unit.
