Two men in court over heroin haul

TWO men have been charged with having a large consignment of heroin for sale or supply, following the seizure of €160,000 worth of the drug.

The two defendants were brought before a special sitting of Limerick District Court yesterday before Judge Tom O'Donnell following the recovery of heroin in the city on Friday.

Both James O'Keefe (20), of Moylish Crescent, Ballynanty, Limerick; and Adam Llewelyn (18), Craeval Park, Moyross, Limerick, are charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin for the purpose of sale or supply at Delmege Demense, Knockalisheen Road, Limerick on October 15 last.

Neither man spoke during the brief hearing and solicitor Sarah Ryan said they would both be making a bail application at tomorrow's sitting.
