Two men charged in connection with post office robbery last Wednesday

Two men have been charged in connection with the robbery of a post office in Kerry last Wednesday.

The men, aged 32 and 46, are due to appear before a special sitting of Killarney District Court today at 7.15pm.

They remain in Garda custody, a garda spokesperson confirmed

The robbery occurred at around 11am on Wednesday when a quantity of cash was stolen from the post office during the robbery.

Three men involved in the incident left the Waterville area in a small blue car in the direction of Cahersiveen/Killarney.

Gardaí responding to the incident intercepted a 03 D navy blue Mazda car. This vehicle was pursued and ultimately crashed in the Beaufort area of Killarney.

Two men were arrested and detained at Killarney and Tralee Garda stations under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

A woman in her late 20s who was arrested on Thursday in connection with this investigation remains in Garda custody. She is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended, at Killarney Garda Station.
