Trial of man accused of raping two friends coming to an end
The trial of a man accused of raping two friends after giving them anti-depressants has entered the closing stages.
The accused has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to raping the first woman and has also denied charges of raping and sexually assaulting the second woman at his home on July 2, 2011.
The alleged offences occurred after the women accompanied the accused back to his apartment where he gave them anti-depressants while telling them it was ecstasy.
The jury of six men and six women heard closing speeches from prosecution and defence counsel before Mr Justice Barry White began charging them in the case. They are expected to begin their deliberations tomorrow.
