Three men charged over garda attack
THREE men arrested in connection with a violent riot which left a garda injured have been remanded in custody to appear before court in June.
A 16-year-old youth and two men -- aged 20 and 18 -- allegedly set upon a male and female garda on Sillogue Road in Ballymun around 2am yesterday.
The gardai had been sent out to respond to reports of groups fighting in the area.
The male garda received serious facial bruising and an eye injury when he and his colleague attempted to intervene in the dispute. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital for medial assistance, but was discharged a few hours later.
The three men appeared at Dublin District Court and were remanded in custody to appear in Blanchardstown District Court on June 14.
