A YOUNG man will appear in court later this month to face charges of stabbing another young man in Dublin's city centre.

The 19-year-old was arrested following an incident at 11.30 last Friday night, which saw another 19-year-old man stabbed and seriously injured while at a shop in the College Green area.

He will appear at Dublin District Court on June 28 to face charges relating to the attack.

Meanwhile, a man who was arrested for a separate stabbing, which took place at the same time on the same night, has been released from custody.

The incident took place at an apartment on Clarence Street, in Dun Laoghaire, south Dublin.

A 41-year-old man was stabbed and seriously injured.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene. Gardai said that a file on the case was being prepared for the DPP.
