Sex attack accused in court

A JOBLESS man has been charged with attempting to sexually assault a young woman in an alleged attack in south Dublin.
James Donohoe (49) was remanded in custody after he appeared in Dublin District Court charged in connection with the incident in Rathmines in the early hours of Monday morning.
The accused, with an address at Harold's Cross Road, is charged with attempting to sexually assault the woman, who is in her 20s, as well as assaulting her causing her harm at Effra Road, Rathmines.
Solicitor Lorraine Stephens was assigned by the judge after Donohoe indicated he was happy to let the court nominate a legal representative.
When the proceedings resumed, Ms Stephens said the accused was not making any bail application.
Garda Ciaran O'Mahony said he arrested Donohoe at Terenure garda station at 7.30pm on Monday.
Judge Michael Walsh remanded him in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court on January 14.
The judge granted free legal aid after hearing that the defendant was on disability allowance.
