Psychiatrist on bite charges has case adjourned

A CONSULTANT psychiatrist who bit two gardai and a barman when he was arrested has had his case adjourned until next month.

Seamus O Flaithbheartaigh (51), who works with the HSE in Limerick, has been charged with assaulting Gda James Rigney and Gda Margaret O'Brien on July 7 last at Denmark Street, Limerick.

He is also charged with being drunk in a public place and assaulting Trevor Guidera – all on the same date.

Solicitor Darach McCarthy has indicated that Mr O Flaithbheartaigh, with an address at Castlemara, Annacotty, Limerick, will not be contesting the charges.

Yesterday Judge Aeneas McCarthy at Limerick District Court remanded the case until April 11.
