Pickpocket 'took man's wallet' as he danced - unaware that undercover gardai were watching, court hears

A CHARITY worker pickpocketed a Dublin city centre reveller while "dancing" with him in the street, a court has heard.

Ahmed Ayadi (21) took the man's wallet while an accomplice kept lookout, unaware that undercover gardai were watching.

Judge Michael Walsh adjourned the case at Dublin District Court for a pre-sentence probation report.

Ayadi, with an address at Boden Park, Rathmines, pleaded guilty to stealing the man's wallet at Dame Court, Dublin 2, last July 20.

Judge Walsh said he could not understand why the case had been adjourned 12 times before there had been an admission of guilt.

Ayadi, who said he sincerely regretted the offence, was remanded on continuing bail to March 24.
