RUGBY legend Ronan O'Gara and his wife Jessica have settled a case brought against them by a Cork-based luxury furniture company over an unpaid bill for a kitchen and appliances, writes Joe Leogue.
House of Coolmore Limited of Raheens, Carrigaline, Co Cork, brought the O'Garas before Cork Circuit Court claiming that the couple failed to keep their end of a promotional agreement.
In its Civil Bill, House of Coolmore Limited had claimed that in June 2006 it had entered into an agreement with the O'Garas wherein it would supply and install a kitchen with appliances and other furniture.
The plaintiffs claimed the terms of the agreement were that the O'Garas (pictured) would pay for some of the cost of the €76,166 worth of work, with the balance being discharged by the couple providing photographs of them in the kitchen to House of Coolmore Limited for promotional purposes.
House of Coolmore Limited said the kitchen was supplied by September 2006 and that they received €35,238 towards the cost of the work. The plaintiff claimed that the couple failed to approve the promotional photographs for publication or pay the money due.
The court heard yesterday that the matter could be struck out with no order by consent of both parties.
