A MURDER charge has been struck out after the 25-year-old accused was found dead after a party last month.
Cork District Court struck out a murder charge against Timothy Kelleher (25) after the judge was told by gardai the defendant was deceased.
Mr Kelleher was charged with the murder of Mark Hanlon (31) at Infirmary Road in Cork city centre on May 6 last.
After being arrested, cautioned and charged, he replied: "It was self-defence."
Mr Kelleher was found dead on October 21 in a flat near University College Cork.
The death was not ruled to be suspicious by gardai.
