An unemployed 34-year-old mechanic has appeared in court accused of robbing three prostitutes in hotel rooms.
At Ennis District Court, Det Sgt Dara O'Sullivan said that Gediminas Zigmantas made contact with the females through an escort website.
He added that following a "liaison" at an Ennis hotel on March 6, the Lithuanian "left the room and came back with another person". He said they tied up the woman and allegedly stole a laptop, a phone and €100.
Mr Zigmantas, of no fixed abode, faces three counts of robbery with the latest alleged to have occurred in Galway on May 11 where Mr Zigmantas is alleged to have robbed a female of €1,700, an iPod and perfume.
He is also accused of robbing a female of €400 at another Galway hotel on October 15 last.
Judge Patrick Durcan refused bail and remanded Mr Zigmantas in custody to appear in court next Wednesday.
