Man to be sentenced for theft of €11k of equipment from takeaway
A Mayo resident who has admitted theft of over €11,000 of equipment from a Castlebar takeaway will be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in November.
Yasir Ali (29) with an address at Waterside, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo, pleaded guilty to burglary at Thomas Street Takeaway, Thomas Street, Castlebar on May 18, 2015.
The equipment comprised a large commercial freezer, deep fat fryers, a commercial hot plate burger fryer, a medium freezer, microwave and food blender. Other items included stainless steel mixing bowls and mixing trays, a chip holder, two stainless steel tables and a food chopping board.
The court heard that the total value of the equipment was €11,484.50.
Judge Karen O'Connor ordered a probation report and adjourned sentencing to November 2, 2017 when full facts will be heard in the case.
