A 35-year-old man is due to go on trial this afternoon, accused of murdering a woman in a Dublin hotel room three years ago.

Eric Locke was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court this morning and charged with the murder of Sonia Blount at a room in the Plaza Hotel in Tallaght on the 16th of February 2014.

The Dubliner, with an address at St John’s Park East in Clondalkin, pleaded not guilty and a jury of eight men and four women was sworn in to hear the case.

It will proceed before Mr Justice Michael Moriarty this afternoon and is expected to last about two weeks.
