Man denies murder in Santry

A JURY has been sworn in for the trial of a 52-year-old man accused of murdering a man in north Dublin two years ago.

Peter Donnelly of The Green, Larch Hill Apartments, Santry, has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to murdering Edward Flanagan at the same address on June 16 2011.

He has also pleaded not guilty to possession of a Baikal 9mm automatic pistol and three rounds of .38 calibre ammunition at the same address on June 15, 2011.

The trial, which is expected to last one week, will begin tomorrow before a jury of seven men and three women presided over by Mr Justice Paul Carney.
