A 32-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court charged with the murder of David Spain on St Stephen’s Day.

Wayne Kennedy (32), of 52 Rathsallagh Park, Shankill, Co Dublin, also faced a charge of assault causing harm to another man when he appeared at Bray District Court this morning.

Mr Spain (26) had just returned from Australia where he was working in construction when the stabbing incident happened close to his home in Rathsallagh Park.

The victim's devastated mother and father were among the first to discover their son's body on the street.

Mr Kennedy was remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court in Dublin next Friday.
