Man charged with burglary at coach's home

A MAN charged in connection with the burglary of Leinster Rugby coach Joe Schmidt's house last Sunday has been remanded in custody.

Fergus Donegan (44), with an address at Nutgrove Crescent, Rathfarnham, Dublin, is charged with burglary at an address at Braemor Park in Churchtown on December 9.

He is also charged with possession of black leather gloves and a torch for use in theft at an address at Orwell Court, Churchtown, on the above date.

Last Monday, Mr Donegan was refused bail by Judge Alan Mitchell in Tallaght District Court. He was brought before Judge Grainne Malone in Cloverhill District Court.

Judge Malone remanded Mr Donegan in custody until January 11 for mention.
