Man arrested in Cork following cocaine probe

A man (54) has been arrested in Mallow, county Cork in possession of .5kg of cocaine.

The man was arrested yesterday afternoon in Castlemccarthy, Churchtown after a joint operation by the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue's Customs Service.

The drug has an estimated street value of €17,500.

The man brought to Mallow Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He was later released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
