A man has been arrested in connection to a fire that destroyed a block of apartments in Dublin last week.
Gardai investigating the fire at Thornfield Square in Clondalkin on July 9 arrested a 27-year-old man earlier today.
He is being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
The fire, which occurred a week ago, ripped through the apartment complex in the early hours of the morning.
Residents, including younger children, were rescued from the roof and balconies of the West Dublin property.
The complex consists of 25 housing units where around 70 people live.
Several people were taken to hospital but their injuries were not serious.
The fire broke out in the hall of the first floor.
