A MAN has been arrested in relation to the murder of George Tkeshelashvili in Tralee in almost nine years ago.

George Tkeshelashvili was found with stab wounds at Westward court in the town in October 2005.

He was rushed to Kerry General Hospital in a taxi where he was later pronounced dead.

This afternoon a 32-year-old man was arrested at Dublin airport in relation to the incident.

He has been taken to Tralee Garda station where he was charged and will appear before a Special sitting of Killarney District Court this evening.

The arrested man was subject to a European arrest warrant and was arrested on foot of this warrant by police in Valencia, Spain.
