Man arrested after €30,000 worth of cocaine seized at garda checkpoint in Wexford

Cocaine worth an estimated €30,000 and a number of house-breaking implements have been recovered after gardai arrested a man in his 20s at a checkpoint in Wexford.

The operation was mounted in Gorey yesterday afternoon as part of Operation Thor which was set up to disrupt burglary gangs.

During the course of a routine search Gardaí discovered two bags of cocaine as well as house breaking tools.

The man was arrested and detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and will appear at a sitting of Gorey District Court at 10.30am this morning charged in relation to the incident.
