Man allegedly ingests and smuggles over 1.5kg of liquid cocaine into Ireland

A man is to appear in court after he allegedly ingested and smuggled liquid cocaine with an estimated street value of over €100,000 into Ireland.

Customs officers at Dublin Airport seized the 1.64 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of €114,800 on Wednesday.

Revenue’s Customs Service report to have suspected the 64-year-old Bolivian man had ingested cocaine following a search and questioning.

He was handed over to An Garda Siochana at Dublin Airport Station and later produced 39 packages filled with liquid cocaine.

The man appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice yesterday where he was remanded in custody by Judge Patricia McNamara to appear in Cloverhill Court next Thursday.
