A 30 year old man will be sentenced in March for raping two young girls in a Westmeath town last year.

The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been sent forward on signed pleas of guilty to the Central Criminal Court from Athlone District Court last week.

He has admitted a total of five charges of raping the girls, aged six and nine years old.

Today Mr Justice Paul Carney set a sentence date of March 3, next when all evidence in the case will be heard.
