Man (63) is charged with stab murder

A 63-YEAR-OLD has been charged with murder after a man died from injuries he received outside a Dublin takeaway at the weekend.
Donal Colgan, of Killarney Court, Killarney Street, Dublin 1, was remanded in custody after appearing in Dublin District Court yesterday evening charged with the murder of 45-year-old David Sheridan.
Father-of-three Mr Sheridan was allegedly stabbed a number of times outside a fast- food restaurant close to his home in the North Strand area on August 17. He later died in hospital.
Judge Deirdre Gearty directed that Mr Colgan receive medical attention.
Detective Sergeant Mark Watters said Mr Colgan was charged and made no reply to the charge after caution.
Defence solicitor Noelle Kenny was assigned on legal aid, after the court heard Mr Colgan earns €550 a week gross and pays €91 in rent.
Mr Colgan was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill court on Tuesday.
