A 43-year-old Dublin man has been charged with the robbery of a shop in Finglas at the weekend.

Jason Spooner, from Belclare Park in Poppintree, appeared at Blanchardstown District Court today where he was charged with robbery of the Centra shop at Hampton Wood on Saturday morning.

Garda Conor Scully from Finglas garda station told judge David McHugh that he arrested Spooner at Hampton Wood at 7.40am that morning.

He was brought to Finglas garda station and later charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The court heard Spooner had no reply to the charges when they were put to him.

Gardai objected to bail and Spooner was remanded in custody to Cloverhill court to appear again on Wednesday.
