Man (26) charged in connection with murder of Paddy Lyons (90)
Gardaí have charged a 26-year-old man in connection with the murder of an elderly man.
The charged man will appear before Dungarvan District Court at 10.30am this morning.
Mr Lyons, a bachelor and an only child, lived alone in the rural townland of Loughreagh, Ballysaggart, 11km from Lismore, Co Waterford. Every Friday, he organised a lift with either a neighbour or a carer to Lismore to collect his pension.
He was last seen on Friday evening, according to gardaí.
Earlier on Tuesday gardai searched a house in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
