Man (22) due in court after father stabbed

A 22-YEAR-OLD man who was questioned about the stabbing of his father will appear in court tomorrow.

He was arrested following an incident at a housing estate in Tralee, Co Kerry, at the weekend in which a man was stabbed several times.

The 42-year-old victim is in Kerry General Hospital where he is being treated for multiple stab wounds to the shoulder and chest, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardai said the incident occurred at the Bruach na hAbhainn estate on Sunday.

The 22-year-old, understood to be the victim's son, was taken to Tralee garda station but was released from custody on Sunday evening.

He is due to appear before Tralee District Court tomorrow morning.
