Man (22) charged with murder over shooting
A MAN was charged yesterday with the murder of a suspected gangland figure shot dead in front of his two children.
Keith Wilson (22), of Cremona Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin, was remanded in custody at Blanchardstown District Court.
He was charged with the murder of Daniel Gaynor (24), who was shot dead as he walked with his partner and children at St Helena's Road, Finglas on August 14 last.
Gaynor was suspected of being involved in the fatal stabbing of Maurice Martin, in Finglas, in June last year and the fatal shooting of Collie Owens in Finglas during the summer.
He was also suspected of involvement in a contract shooting, which has left Tallaght postman Robert Delany in a vegetative state after he was hit in the head by a shotgun blast as he looked out of his apartment, in 2008.
Wearing a grey short-sleeved tee-shirt and blue jeans, Mr Wilson sat quietly with his arms folded as details of his arrest, charge and caution were read during a two-minute appearance.
Judge John O'Neill remanded him in custody to Cloverhill District Court on November 17.
