RUGBY legend Ronan O'Gara and his wife Jessica are being sued by a luxury furniture company.
The record point scorer for Ireland and Munster has been given time to prepare his defence in a civil case brought by the Cork-based company.
Bespoke handcrafted furniture specialists House of Coolmore Ltd, with a business address at Raheens, Carrigaline, Co Cork, brought the motion against the O'Garas, of Maryborough Hill in Douglas, Cork, before Cork County Registrar yesterday.
At a brief court hearing before registrar Deirdre O'Mahony, a six-week adjournment of proceedings was requested to allow the O'Garas to prepare their case for defence.
No details of the action or the sum of money involved were given in court. It is understood the action revolves around the installation of a luxury furniture item at the O'Garas' home.
The adjournment was granted and the civil proceedings are set to resume in six weeks' time.
Mr O'Gara did not attend yesterday's hearing. He is currently based in France where he has taken up a coaching contract with Racing Metro.
Former fly-half O'Gara began his coaching career in Paris in July and was joined by his wife and their four children in August.
The O'Garas were living in the luxury gated residence they built at Maryborough Hill before the move.
